INFORMATION ON THE PROJECT AUCTION 2019
The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided to hold the first project auction for selection of RES projects. The main difference between project and zonal auction, which were held in 2018, is that investors will be offered to implement construction of RES facility with pre-project documentation attached.
In 2019, such a pilot is solar power plant (SPP) with installed capacity of 50 MW. The site for construction of SPP is located in Otyrar district of Turkestan oblast, Shaulder village, land plot area of 100 ha.
Experts of the UNDP project on reducing risks of investing in RE, specially for the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan are engaged in development of pre-project documentation with main technical parameters of the project, including power distribution scheme, environmental impact assessment. Pilot project auction– solar power plant (SPP) with installed capacity of 50 MW (site for SPP construction is located in the Otyrar district of Turkestan oblast) will be held on November 27th, 2019. Registration for participation in this auction will be open on KOREM website on October 14th, 2019 and will last until November 19th, 2019 inclusive.

Also, please be informed that in order to provide investors with the most complete information on this project, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with UNDP, as well as the JSC KOREM and the Financial Settlement Center plans to hold a two-day seminar on September 30th, 2019 - October 1st, 2019 in the Turkestan city with attendance of planned facility site.
